The Rules on Car Decoration and Material Consumption

As the elevator is an important vertical transport vehicle, car decoration has effects on safety factors and technical indexes of elevator, which is greatly different from building decoration. Based on our years of design and engineering experience, here we give you some rules on car decoration, which are as follows:
1. When ordering, please provide the elevator factory with car decoration program and the exact weight of the materials, to facilitate the factory to make proper technical treatment. In case of re-decoration, the total weight of the materials should not exceed 15% of the elevator rated load, otherwise, it may leave safety hazard.
2. For car decoration with heavier materials, the elevator factory should make some adjustments to metal strength, rail specifications, bracket density, balance system, the design of traction gear and wire cable, as well as materials, thus ensuring the safety and durability of elevators. The car decoration material design load of DHT elevator can be 50% of the rated load (even higher in some cases).
3. When using stone, tiles or wood flooring to pave the car platform, certain space (the thickness of these materials) should be reserved to ensure that the car platform and landing sill are in the same height for easy access.
4. If the car wall and ceiling use glass or mirror, their materials must be special explosion-proof laminated safety glass.
5. All decorations such as car wall and ceiling must be fixed onto the original car wall by long screws, to prevent the falling of decorations.
6. Any decoration program should not affect the opening and maintenance of control panel, door opening and closing, life saving function of the car roof, as well as the ventilation and illumination of the car.
7. Compared with building decoration, the car decoration of elevators is surveyed by passengers more closely. Therefore, particular attention should be paid to details of car decoration. We have summarized five points of car decoration process.
1). Glass or mirror trimming, not use glass cement to hide the ugly place
2). Marble trimming, not use gypsum powder to cover up the ugly place
3). The screw head should not be exposed
4). When bending stainless steel plate, the plate with concave surface can be bent into a right angle.
5). Exposed edges of all materials should be smooth
